The Way A Process of Faith Formation

What is The Way?

The Way is a process of discovery, growth, and faith formation developed by Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church in Seattle, Washington.

Who might attend The Way at Mt. Calvary?

Anyone desiring a deeper experience of faith can attend The Way. It might be a person searching for a relationship with Christ and the Christian community; a person who desires to be baptized or have a child baptized; a person who needs support while struggling with faith and life issues; a person who desires to affirm his or her baptism; a visitor looking for a church; a friend, relative, or colleague at work that might benefit from being part of a Christian community; any one of you reading this.

What does an evening with The Way look like?

The Way begins with a well-prepared meal by our volunteers. Pastor Abraham joins the group for the meal and then departs when the meal is ended. After the meal, participants form a small group, or groups, depending on the number of people. Each group numbers between 6 and 8 people. A layperson then guides the group through an open ended, non-judgmental, non-threatening sharing of experiences, questions, and faith. The pastor does not participate in the small group meetings.

When does The Way take place?

Participants in The Way meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00 - 7:00pm.  When there is interest, new sessions begin in the fall.

If you have questions regarding The Way or desire to participate in the process, please call the church office at 831-475-6962.
